Jamaica to Promote Science & Industry to Boost Economy
Kingston, Aug 4 (Prensa Latina) Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness called on the country today to focus on sciences, commerce and the industry in order to reanimate the domestic economy. On Monday, August 6, we will commemorate the 56th anniversary of our independence with great achievements, but it is time to leave our imprint on sustainable financial development, the prime minister said at an official ceremony in this capital. Globally, we have gained ground in sports, arts and the cultural industries in general, but let us use our freedom and independence to create wealth through investment in sciences, the industry and commerce, he noted. Holness recalled that music is one of Jamaica’s major contributions to the world.
